You came for a few weeks.
Some homes have other plans.
Nobody plans for a second house to become the first home. It just happens — somewhere between the third visit and the one where you stopped counting.
There’s a particular kind of light that shows up around five in the afternoon on this coast. It comes in low, through the curtains, and lands across the room like it has somewhere to be. The first few times you see it, you take a photo. You send it to someone back home with a caption about how lucky you are.
Then, at some point, you stop reaching for your phone. You just sit in it.
That’s usually the first sign. Not a decision. Not a plan. Just a quiet shift in what you reach for — the camera, or the moment itself.

The moment it changes
You stop counting
the days left.
A vacation has an end date, even when you don’t say it out loud. You feel it in the background the whole time — the return flight, the calendar waiting back wherever “real life” is supposed to happen. Every day is a little bit borrowed.
Then one trip, the countdown just isn’t there. You unpack like you’re staying, not visiting. You buy the good coffee, not the vacation coffee. You learn which chair catches the breeze in the afternoon, and it becomes your chair — not the guest’s, not the tenant’s. Yours.
Nobody announces this to themselves. It just becomes true, quietly, in the small decisions nobody else notices.
Home is a feeling — living in you.

Not a getaway anymore
It becomes the place
you miss.
Here’s the real proof, and it doesn’t happen while you’re there — it happens after you leave. You’re back wherever you came from, back in the life that used to feel permanent, and you catch yourself thinking about the light at five o’clock. The sound the ocean makes from the terrace. The book you left open on the table, exactly where you’ll find it again.
That’s not nostalgia for a vacation. Nobody aches for a hotel room. You ache for a home — and that ache is the whole answer to a question you probably never asked out loud: which one is really yours?
The second house stopped being second the day it became the one you missed the most.

What we actually build for
Not a house.
A feeling.
We don’t build furniture because a room needs filling. We build it because a room needs to feel like it’s already yours — from the first afternoon, not the fiftieth. The right chair in the right light does something a listing photo never can: it makes a place feel inevitable, like you were always going to end up here.
That’s the only thing we’ve ever really been in the business of. The tables and the sofas are just how we get there.
Wherever it finds you,
we’ll help you build it.
Tell us what you’re imagining — we’ll take it from there.
